I've got my new laptop hooked upto the net now. It all feels very strange and alien compared to my desktop, it's going to take a lot of getting used to! Just thought I'd share that. :P Ive had to go out and buy a gaming mouse because the touch pad is near useless. How anyone can possibly use that thing is beyond me.

*loves her touchpad with all her heart*

It needs a few hours to get use to and days till it's internal, but you gonna admit soon that it's very useful and someday you gonna have a mouse in your hand and curse it! Just believe me...

At the moment I can't see how that's ever likely to happen... Using photoshop is a nightmare with the touch pad!

You just need to learn how to handle it... *smirks*

I know that it's so much different than a mouse, but once the phase of reorientation phases, you gonna see the benefit. And it has lots of benefits! But PS is the hardest program to adjust, although you never backed down from a challenge, don't start now, my love!

the touch pad isn't that bad once you get use to it..as long as your laptop is the only computer you use..it's virtually impossible when you have a desktop too.

Maybe I've just been spoilt with the mouse... it's all I've used for 5 years now. For some reason the touch pad just doesn't seem comfortable or sensitive enough especially for graphics work. But like you say maybe you just get used to.

Oh and I am flitting between the desktop and the laptop so I guess that won't help.

The specs on my laptop are pretty good I don't have an issue with that and I don't think it's going to break down on me anytime soon, it's just the strangeness of the thing, Particularly the touch pad. My desktop was brought 2 years ago and it's still well above average. I will continue to use the desktop as my main multimedia machine.

If you do any kind of freeform drawing stuff in PS, I'm thinking a pad that teeny weeny would be a hang up. I can find my way around a touch pad, and my brother claims to have come to appreciate the one on his Mac, but they are *not* my first choice. :P But yay for shiny new computer!

I do love my shiny new laptop and I suppose I would get used to the pad if I put in a bit of effot. Fortunately I don't have to now because of my sexy, fancy new mouse.
