[Fic] Bells of Nagasaki

- I must say after editing this and re-writing some parts, I am quite fond of this fic; it has everything I'd always wanted to explore - history and relationships, and Giripan ♥ I hope you will enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it :')

Beautiful ♥ I love historical fiction like this. You did a tremendously admirable job with establishing Greece's personality. Also, I thoroughly enjoyed the Greek in here, I think it's a beautiful language *_*

Thank you :')

History is one of the things I love about Hetalia, and I've always wanted to explore it with Giripan. I'm happy you like how I write him, considering that I find him quite a tricky character to write. And yessss I love the Greek language, it even reads off so prettily and sounds even more beautiful when spoken *__*

Thank you again for commenting <3

I think the more introverted characters are harder to write in prose, because most of their thoughts stay just that - thoughts - and if they don't articulate anything, it's obviously going to read off strangely |D I cannot write Japan at all, and it's impeding a historical fiction I'd like to finish D: Do you have any tips, if I may ask?

I met a girl from Cyprus that was fluent in Greek; I always bugged her to talk to me in it |D

You're very welcome!

Indeed they are. And it's harder because these two aren't very expressive either with hand gestures or facial expressions OTL.

Ahh Japan he can be so hard to write ^^; Well... I think for me it sorta helps because in terms of personality, he and I are similar. So in that sense I somewhat understand his thought-process. But yeah, with introverted characters like him, I spend a lot of time picking his personality apart so really try to understand why he does this, or what he may think about something someone said/does. I guess it also helps that I RP him on literate boards, so I get quite a bit of practice writing him out.

Re-reading Hima's canon strips/character notes also help, and fics (pairing/gen-fics) from other good writers. And well, I think a lot about how a dialogue might sound if he said it - if I can't actually imagine his voice in my head saying it, then it probably wouldn't be something he'd say. The same goes with other nation-tans. I always try to imagine them saying out the dialogue I planned in a fic and then sort ( ... )

What a beautiful story! There is so much emotional depth to it that it leaves me stunned. I find it very hard to find the proper words to describe how much I enjoyed it. I love historical fiction and this one is just so gorgeous, I love how you blend historical events and their personal relationship through the decades.

Thank you so much for your kind words, it makes me really happy that you feel that way about my fic. I've always loved exploring nations' histories and their ties to other nations/people in their lives, so I'm glad that I was able to convey all those unsaid emotions into this fic and still keep the story-telling relatively simple and straightforward.

Again, thank you for commenting. Dankeschön! :')

This was so beautiful. I love the feeling you give with the snapshots of their lives. I have to admit I almost cried at one point.

>///< I did put quite a lot of emotion writing this fic out. And I wanted each scene to show important snippets of their relationship, so I'm happy you feel that way about how it the story flowed. And yeah, it's a little heart-breaking isn't it? But it's a sad reality with wars, I guess.

Thank you so much for commenting! :')
