Lovely

Sherlock had never used the word love in direct application to anyone he knew. “Not really my thing,” was something he made a point to reveal up front to any potential partners, though he usually followed with equal vehemence about his enthusiasm for unattached sex. When he moved in with Sherlock, John Watson was completely amenable to this ( Read more... )

Ahh! I feel like I need a disclaimer since I finally leaped into BBC! Oh well. It's out there. I hope the public is kind. :)

Dear lord, you made me blush! Steamy phone sex! YAY!

I knew you were toying with the idea of writing Sherlock fic, but I didn't know it had resulted in anything! Much less anything so simultaneously hot and adorable. I particularly like the moment with Sherlock "appreciating" John - just breathing him in for a moment (but of course it has nothing to do with love). I liked that John is #1 on his phone (but of course Sherlock isn't reliant on him, even though he can't get through 3 days without him). I love your characterizations - I think you got the best of them!

And hey - no disclaimer necessary! This is a wonderful, steamy, sweet story, and it made me fonder of these two than I've ever felt before. And I'm SO excited that you were inspired to write!

I kind of blushed writing it. :)

Thanks so much for reading and responding immediately. It's a kind of relief in a "Well, at least someone liked it" sort of way. Even better that it was you saying such nice things.

It was pretty fun to shove my entire workday aside and crank one out. It's been so long I forgot how good it feels.

I'm so glad you gave yourself that time! It is immensely satisfying to have a day like that, isn't it? And I did like it - I realized that you captured perhaps the only thing better about a modern story: no phone sex in Victorian London!

Well done! As you may know through the grapevine, I only dabble slightly in Sherlock, but I could not resist seeing your name on the story. Whee!

I did hear that, and I want to thank you for coming by to read my fics. It's a brave thing to venture into other fandoms, even as a reader. I very much appreciate your comment!

Woo-hoo! That is full of awesome sauce!

Cumberbatch and Freeman are a bit "inspirational" aren't they? *reminds self to finish own BBC fic*

They are, but I think I might have been more inspired by all the good BBC fics that I've read over the past year. At any rate, it's nice to be in a new sandbox. Thank you for coming by to read and comment!

*flails*

I was thrilled to see you'd written fic, but you made me inordinately giddy by dipping your toe in BBC Sherlock :D You should do more of that, by the by. Because this was intensely hot and your voices made me want to swoon, as well. You've got the boys down so well, and this:

"Of course he didn’t miss John. He would call him to prove it."

Yes. Just, yes. You nailed it. Um, no pun intended... well, maybe just a little

It means a lot to me to hear you say that. I've been considering BBC for a while, and posting this "story" felt rather like jumping off a fairly high ledge. Thanks to kind words like yours I feel like I landed safely, and even want to get back up there and do it again. :)

Oh, please do jump off that ledge again :) There is certainly no lack of BBC fic out there, but the genuinely good, well characterized ones are rare gems, indeed. Besides, it does make me giddy seeing all the "old school" slashers dip their toes into BBC... makes for the best fics :D

BTW, have you considered posting this here: sherlockbbc
