3 years ago we lost our old male cat, a dark black/gray mackerel tabby. Your icon is pretty much exactly their relationship; she mothered him, he protected her, and they slept curled together--I kid you not--exactly like a Taijitu symbol. With him black/gray and her yellow/white, it was... very cool.

*snort* You have a point. Interestingly, they would sleep head to tail, with their cheeks resting on the other's haunch. I really did always think of that symbol, when I saw them like that.

*sniff* I'm so sorry, honey. I know how you feel. I had three, now down to two and they are getting on in years (and one is diabetic). It's amazing how much they worm their way into our hearts and lives.
