(We had a small one in the Loft tonight, but we're going to be having an ongoing one here.)

{{Excellent! I had to open the library this morning, so I didn't want to be up too late last night. I'll put up a thread for Alice when I come back from choir rehearsal.}}

(OOC: Maybe it's here)

If there's one thing that is always true about Marce, it's that she's punctual. Even when she's dressed as Nellie Lovett, the baker from Sweeney Todd.

She feels a slight chill as she finds a seat in the darkened loft. Her hands nervously comb through her deliberately messed up hair, turning it into an even bushier mess.

Before she can look for something to drink, a footstep sounds from the doorway, forcing her to turn to look.

Alice has always enjoyed fancy dress parties and was quite pleased when she learned one would be held at the Loft on Hallowe'en.

After casting about for costume ideas, she had settled on borrowing Elsie's "Evening Star" gown from a previous fancy dress ball, complete with a matching half-mask. There are perils of wearing a gown styled after the eighteenth century, however: Alice made several unsuccessful attempts at passing through her doorway (she dearly hopes this did not translate to the Loft's Door-or if it did, that no-one noticed her awkward entrance).

Now that she is finally in the Loft proper, Alice looks about the cafe, taking in the decorations & the other guests' disguises whilst slowly making her way to the refreshments table.

(If one were to look very closely, one would notice that Alice's dress has undergone a few minor alterations: namely, parts of it have been taken in slightly and the hem shortened a bit. Lorina always has been a little taller.)

A waltz is playing on the jukebox and one sullen dancing princess is seated in a comfortable chair, playing with one of the ruffles on their dress. It's been a roller-coaster night, with highs when people were (at least pretending to be) convinced he was actually a girl and also dancing, and lows when Toki screamed at him.

So naturally the thing to do is eat ALL the cookies on the plate he purchased earlier. ...He knows better than to go after Loft-provided candy at these functions. Senri has made good headway through that platter of carbs and butter when something catches the corner of his eye...

Surprised blinking at the gorgeous gold costume. Where Senri is cute and pink, Alice is elegant and intricate. There is such an urge to examine that dress and despite the fact that he's currently engaged in a depression and anger fueled cookie binge, he gives a little awed coo Alice's way. So pretty.

[OOC: He could pass as female but feel free to recognize him!

Oh, a waltz! Alice happily begins to look for a dancing-partner.

Soon, however, she notices a somewhat forlorn looking young lady in a lovely pink gown with a plate of (rapidly disappearing) biscuits.

Alice makes her way across the floor & pauses by the vaguely familiar lady (is she meant to be dressed as a princess?). She knows from experience that it never is very pleasant to be not enjoying oneself at a gathering full of people who are.

"Is this chair available?" she asks with a gentle smile.

{{OOC: I honestly don't know what colour Alice's dress really is: in the episode it looks more golden, but in the promo cap I linked it seems silver. For RP purposes, I was thinking of having it be gold because, after all, it's Lorina's dress. (She's a Spring; Alice as a Summer would look better in silver.) }}

Senri hastily snaps up a napkin, cleaning up (yet mindful of the makeup!) when Alice approaches. There's a mute nod at her question -- he's still sulking but attention is quickly becoming distracted by that gorgeous gorgeous gown...

"It must be heavy," he comments, though the tone is still awed. "Who made it? Lovely..." Back to proper lady-like manners and posture, Senri leans forward some.
