How does your character make a living? How do they support their lifestyle? Show us a moment where your characters finances come into play - something they can afford or not afford, a time when their finances are poor or doing well- however  you interpret the topic!

Rory and his mother had come to an understanding. He helps with chores, she pays him once every two weeks for his efforts. They even had a chart detailing how much each chore was worth and today, Rory had a plan to do the really expensive ones. He wanted a new skateboard. Not that he knew how to use it, it was just the idea of being able to say he owned a skateboard. And maybe dad would teach him how to use it!

That would be awesome if he did.

Now, after his chores were done, he and his mom stood at the chart, bargainning and haggling.

"I took the garbage out! Thats five dollars."

"Four. You didn't clean up the trail one of the bags made when it leaked everywhere."

Crap.

"I pulled up weeds in the garden. Thats 5 dollars, too."

"Four fifty. You left muddy footprints everywhere and it took you two hours to finally get to cleaning it."

Oh, fudge.

"I did the dishes. I did'em all day saturday."

"I know. I counted. You did them after breakfast, lunch and dinner and did a very good job with it, too. Thats...what...three dollars per load?" She looked at her son, smiling. "I'll throw in an extra dollar and round that up to ten, okay?" Rory grinned and bounced slightly. "And dad said you helped with laundry. Thats not even on the list. Tell ya what. How much is that skateboard you want?"

"Forty-five ninety-nine. " Rory paused. "Oh...plus tax." Jody nodded, taking this in.

"I'll split the difference with you under two conditions. One, you keep being as helpful around here as you have been. Two...stay out of trouble at school for a month."

Ooooh...mom drove a hard bargain. Rory looked at her tentatively then held out his hand. "Okay...ya got a deal."
