The Most Wonderful Time of the Year - Nano

Oct 31, 2011 00:20

And I am only half kidding with that subject.  I love Nanowrimo.

For those who don't know what Nanowrimo is, it is a yearly event in which people attempt to write a 50,000 word "novel" in the month of November.   The idea is to put quantity over quality, to put out as many words as you can every day...and in this way to silence all those voices that are holding you back, your inner editor for a month

It is also a great way to get back in the habit of taking a little time for writing every day in your busy schedule.

I encourage all of you to join us again this year!  More information can be found at the official website www.nanowrimo.org

For those members who are participating this year, go ahead and comment to let us know a little about yourselves.   I even have a nifty questionnaire I stole from last year's nanopost  (Thanks L)

NaNo username: (your username on the Nanowrimo site)
Writing journal: (if you have a separate writing journal, and will be posting your work in it, and want friends to read along, let us know!)
Title: (what you're calling your work this year, if you know)
Genre: (literary fiction ? chick lit? horror? etc)
Summary: (brief description of what you plan to write, if you've got a clue ;)
What I'd like charloft to offer for Nano support: (any suggestions? things you'd like to see us do?)
Anything else: (feel free to toss in some advice to your fellow Nanoers, list what years you've participated, link to your nano community, etc)

In past years we have had events for nano, daily help and prompts and of course last year's plot ninjas.   Let us know if there is anything in that spirt you would like to see this year.

mod biz, nano
