Persethnei. I like the idea that she's there to meet the shades of everyone I've killed, and of everyone I've loved, and my own when that comes around, and she doesn't judge, doesn't condemn, only receives, and welcomes, and loves. She's as much a prisoner in the realm of death as we are, and I've always felt that she's there so that we don't have to be alone in that. That one of the gods, at least, understands us.

I'm not a praying man, but I whisper to her sometimes. I'm pretty sure she knows me. I've sent her a lot of bad company, and more than a little good.

The idea of unconditional acceptance is very appealing. It is a shame that you believe you will only receive it when you die.
