“No,” Justinian whispered as he looked to Jenna.
“No?” Jenna asked quietly as she looked at the man she called villain. The man she wanted nothing to do with and the only one still alive who understood her at all.
“You had your chance,” Justinian whispered. “Before you went down the path that you couldn’t turn from and destroyed everything. You proved that you don’t need me. So go live your life and don’t come back for me.”
“You’re the one who left the first scar,” Jenna whispered as she turned to leave, letting the door close quietly behind her.

“I can’t do it. I give up.” Aidan says in frustration.
Wes looks at him strangely, “Do what?”
“I can’t write about ants on a blanket. I can’t do it. I got nothing.”
“Nothing?”
“I wanted to write about killing ants with a magnifier. Never did that. I wanted to write about being attacked by fire ants. Never happened to me. I wanted to write about Barney singing about ants in that strange song that doesn’t make any sense. Never watched it.”
“That’s hard to believe.”
“Shut up. The point is that I can’t do it. I forfeit this one.”

“Kit?”
“Hmm?”
“What’s a four letter word for a colorful balloon, often red and found in a song?” Frank asks.
Kit smiles, “Did I ever tell you that I was in a band?”
“No, but what does that have to do with this crossword puzzle?”
“I was in Germany when my guitarist saw a bunch of red balloons being released. I commented that if they got to the other side of the Berlin wall, then it would cause an apocalyptic reaction. So a simple little German song about balloons came from it.”

The Varner boys were both sprawled on the floor with their heads bowed over Nintendo DSes, racing Mario Kart. "Butts," Theo called.
Alison shook her head, but filled it in anyhow. "Verb?"
"Interrupting," Theo said. "Which you are."
"I don't mind," Val said, looking up from the game.
"Adjective?"
"Eloquent."
Theo snorted. "Fancy-smancy adjective."
Alison threw a pillow at Theo.
Val gave her a smile. "Good shot."
"Suck up," Theo said.
"Eat me," Val replied sweetly. He was getting the hang of siblings.
Alison rolled her eyes. "So much for eloquent."

“The answer is Luft.”
