Prompt 5 - Wrath hector_styles July 3 2010, 08:53:07 UTC
[hector_styles and levy_mayer]

“Get out,” Levy growled at the death mage, Hector, who had stepped through the Underworld’s gateway.

Torture, rape and cannibalism all at once couldn’t completely describe the horror of Hector’s magic - it was far worse than that. It completely destroyed a person’s soul, stripped them of any possibility of an afterlife. Nothing else spawned pure rage in Levy like this. The dybbuk’s voice urged him to action.

Kill him or he’ll kill again.

Hector’s calm smirk only fueled that anger.

KILL HIM.

A vicious shove outside the gate was all the mage received; despite the temptation, Levy was no killer.

Prompt 51 - Ants levy_mayer July 3 2010, 10:30:39 UTC
Watching his younger brother mix together a float of Chozen Matzoh Crunch ice cream, Blue Bubblegum Jones soda, and chunks of mango was more than a little off-putting. Levy asked with a quirk of his eyebrow, “…could you come up with a worse combination?”

Of course he could. “Coconut ice cream with root beer and maple syrup,” Benny said matter-of-factly.

“Gross.” Levy replied simply, not wanting to encourage Benny further.

But of course that didn’t work. “No, wait. Dirt, acid rain, and dried fire ants.” Quite pleased with himself, Benny downed a generous spoonful of his blue and orange concoction.

"I don't see what the big deal is," Beth said. "It wasn't very funny. Mostly just stupid."

"The Truffle Shuffle," she scoffed. "And what was with the ugly guy?"

Badru gave her a cross look. Chunk and Sloth were his favorites. He poked at his slice of pie. Twenty minutes she'd been bitching. He set his fork down, pushed the plate away and stared out the window.

"Look, it's sweet of you to take me to a movie." Her voice as tender as a tire iron. "But next time, why don't you try to think more about what I want."

Nothing beats Mammy's cooking. At least she doesn't think so. When you're as old as her...well, you've had some time to practice. If you ask her about it, she'll laugh, tell you if you cut her she'll bleed gumbo. No one's tested that theory yet.

She loves to cook, but there's not much point when you live alone, so she'll scare up a mess of something. Sometimes it finds it's way to shelter. Sometimes is dished out to good friends, or used to make new ones.

The way Mammy sees it, it's just her way of giving something back.

She has grown up a lot in a short amount of time. Learned a lot about the world. These things do not go unnoticed by Badru. Being brave enough to allow him to take her shopping. Or when she studies her book or wears her shoes. When she imitates his behavior, trying to improve upon herself. These are moments where his chest puffs up and he smiles that toothy, happy smile of his. This is his girl, Badru will tell you. His lovely little Delia. His sweet little bayou blossom. And Badru couldn't be prouder of the woman she's becoming.

The autopsy report said the victim suffered significant blood loss due to lacerations to neck and throat. It goes on to read that the marks appear to be bite-like in nature. Wild animal bites to be precise. But wild animals don't run free in downtown Miami. Not actual ones anyway.

There's no fancy investigation, just a sigh of relief from the police. This was no surprise to Badru. They were happy to have one less dealer loose in the streets. Badru was glad the apartment next to his was quiet now. He'd warned the guy about keeping the noise down.

Drabble 34, prompt 1 - Vacation island_juliet July 3 2010, 14:19:44 UTC
There’s no such thing as vacation when you’re already living on a tropical island. Still, Horace has closed down operations for the holiday weekend which means that she’s kicked Miles and Jin out of the house with strict orders for them to stay gone until Monday morning.

Being naked in her own house is absolutely a vacation.

As she reaches for the peanut butter in the kitchen, she feels strong arms wrap her up, and she grins.

“Wanna make some fireworks in the kitchen?”

Juliet makes a pained face. “That’s the worst thing you’ve ever said to me, James LaFleur.”

Not the first time he's stayed up till dawn, but this time Michael's sober. Clean as the morning air. He's up to watch the sun rise over the lake.

Daybreak finds him thirty-five, no longer a young indie darling.

"It's beautiful," he says to no one as light colors the horizon vivid shades.

The first day of his new life as a 'rockstar' dawns on him alone. The band's all asleep.

Last night he signed a major label contract. The kids will call it 'selling out.'

The sun sparkles through the water like diamonds. Michael shades his eyes.
