Title" Fireworks and Camp

~

Fireworks

“Oh, come on! That’s the best part of the first movie and you know it!”

“No, I don’t think so.”

“What!? How can you say that?”

“Tell me what makes the fireworks scene so great, and I’ll tell you if I think you’re right.”

“Okay, first? That dragon was fucking awesome. I’ve only seen two movies that impressed me with their fireworks. This movie and 'Coneheads'. That, in and of itself is pretty special.”

“And?”

“And, Pippin screams like a girl. You can’t beat that. The little Hobbit screamed like a girl. It’s classic and hilarious.”

“Okay. You win.”

They’re both standing at the kitchen counter, DHRAMA wine slowly dripping from the counter and running down her face. It’s stained his jumpsuit and they’re both staring at each other until she giggles a little. The giggle turns into a laugh as she puts the bottle down and reaches for a paper towel.

“Smart move, Blondie sticking a knife into the bottle to try and push the cork down.”

“I didn’t know it would explode!” And then she’s laughing again, falling against him in hysterics.

“You are damn drunk, Juliet.”

“No.”

“Prove it.”

So she pulls him into a kiss.

Vibius wasn’t scared of thunderstorms . The driving sheets of rain made him irritable, mainly because it meant he was stuck inside. But, the lightning and thunder didn’t bother him. If anything he felt a little jealous for the fire that could play in the rain.

Thunder shook the windows, and the lights dimmed and flickered a few times. Vibius watched the beautiful forked lightning electrify the sky and counted the beats from flash to the rumble of the thunder. He imagined it was growling at the water, ordering it leave the sky, which was rightly a kingdom of fire.

Monday nights had quickly become Amara's favorite. At quarter til, there would be a knock on the door. Amara would open the door, kiss Jeanine, and take the bottle of wine from her hands. They would pour two glasses, snuggle up on the couch together, and spend the next half hour laughing and sometimes crying.

The latest half hour had their ribs aching and Jeanine confessed to the idiocy of her youth.

"That was me when I was a teenager. 'Sandcastles in the Sand' would have been my teenage anthem," Jeanine squealed.

"You're so cute," Amara proclaimed, hugging Jeanine tight.
