So much for a quiet night out...

It had been a simple plan. He was going to go into the diner and grab a couple of cups of coffee to go. It had been a long day at Queen Industries and all he wanted was to get some coffee for him and his girlfriend before heading home for the night ( Read more... )

ooc: oh why not? :)

Sam had managed to hitchhike his way to Kansas, avoiding Lawrence by the way of Smallville instead. He was debating on taking Oliver up on his offer for the Florida beach house (and maybe seeing Lana for the night to give her a bit of comfort that he was ok) when he saw something very suspicious happening at the bank across the street.

What he would give for an Impala full of weapons at the moment - or a brother at his back. Especially when he wasn't sure if the guy in the mask had flashed black eyes before pulling out the shotgun.

He could have walked away, making it someone else's problem, but he couldn't. So instead he slipped into the alley, dropped his gear behind a dumpster, and grabbed a weapons to slide it into his jacket. Then he went to walk into the bank to see if there was anything he could do to help.

The man's gun was pointed straight at Oliver, who'd caught him off guard with his sudden appearance.

It would figure that this would have to happen at a time where he wasn't the Green Arrow and thus had no weapons on him. He'd have to handle this a different way.

"Don't move," the man ordered.

"Not going anywhere," Oliver assured him, raising his hands slightly to show that he was unarmed. He felt more than heard someone approaching from behind, and wondered if there was another one behind him. Every instinct told him to turn and attack. But he couldn't do that--not with a room full of potential hostages and a gun in his face.

Sam kept to the shadows, moving without making a sound. No, this one was human. A demon wouldn't bother with warnings and the like, and would have known he was there by now.

He moved quickly, one hand wrapping around the man's mouth and the other pointing his gun against the robber's head. He also turned the man just enough to knock the line of fire from his gun away from anyone.

"Stay quiet and nobody gets hurt," Sam said quietly into the robber's ear, then looked over at the man that the robber had been holding hostage. "Take his gun."

Oliver didn't hesitate moving forward and taking the gun from the robber, glancing at the newcomer gratefully. "Anyone want to use their cell phone to call the police?" he asked, glancing around at the others.

One woman quickly raised her hand and pulled her phone out.

Oliver turned his attention to the man who'd saved the day. "Thanks."
