Take a job you can't stand because the money's too good to pass up? -OR- Work a job you love, even though you might make little or no money at it?
I don't know why the hell people assume that those are the two alternatives.

What are you wearing?
I don't have a picture of my coat, but it's a little like this:
I found it in a pawn shop. I showed up here...without mine. This one isn't bad though.
[OOC: Searched long and hard for a picture of the coat I see Kanda wearing in the modern world, but that one was as close as I could come. Imagine that, only blacker, and with a somewhat more native/western (and somewhat kitsch) feel to it. Also, conchae. XD
He wouldn't have pictures of these handy, but if anyone is running into him anywhere other than his modern day verse, he'll likely be wearing one of three things, depending on the point in his canon timeline he's at:
First uniform

Or else he might be turning up somewhere shirtless and seemingly torn to hell, which would be the second uniform with everything above the waist unceremoniously ripped/burned off of him.]
