Imogene was still in her school clothing when she stepped over the threshold of the library doors and held them open for the shoemaker with the crutches behind her.

She remembered, in the back of her mind, telling Gabe she would show him the location of the World's End library months and months before, before the war and the mess that had gotten

Alice had been meaning to visit the World's End library for some time now. Somewhat unfortunately, arriving at the library had not been as simple as opening one of the doors in the Deanery library (she had hoped this door might turn into a Door to World's End. After all, one never did know what to expect with Doors).

No matter, as she found the library before long ... and soon found herself entirely overwhelmed by the sheer amount of books and tomes and other materials in the collection (some of which she had no concept of their purpose).

"I suppose I ought not be surprised," she said to herself (loud enough to be overheard), "With the number of worlds that connect to the Charloft, one should expect a library to join even more."
