The J. A. Bauer Pottery Company traces its roots to Paducah, Kentucky and was officially given the Bauer name in 1905 when they moved to Los Angeles, California. Bauer Pottery closed its doors in 1962, but not before it had become the original California Pottery maker.

I love the apples in the green bowl! And I seem to remember there were other bowls, as well, but this is the most memorable.
That dining room table made a great ice skating rink for our dolls. It was such a fantastic place to play!

I remember having that special large bowl in the family. We had a yellow one. It's so toucing the way objects become connected with memories.
Sadly the yellow bowl shattered just this year.

Too bad! We have a couple bowls like that, too. That Mom must have had forever and a day. I feel good when I go home to Sunday dinner and see them sitting on the table filled with food.

That is sad. But at least it was being used! That's how I feel about it -- I'll use that green bowl until the day it's gone. And then I'll still remember it fondly forever...
