I started to write a bunch of personal feelings about the insurance stuff and then decided not to do that. I will talk live to you about all of that when ever we can find time over the next few days. I am having some issues that will be figured out soon. I know how tired I am and you both have been running full time for months like this. I don't know how you do it, but you are do dedicated and organized that you just keep on
( ... )
Both Marilyn and I have bad allergies (family history, among other things), so anything in the air WILL get us. (We went through this with our earlier flooding this year, too, so it's not a big surprise.)
I don't think we need to worry about mold, however. They cut out and removed both the carpet and pad (the wet part) -- and did the same with the walls where they were wet (the drywall). Then they power-washed using some special treatment stuff. And all this noisy, huge equipment everywhere is drying and other stuff. So I think we're okay for mold, anyway... (That was a huge worry the first time around, but we managed to avoid it.)
It's almost ironic that Marilyn's back is better, Donna -- but it's one of the blessings of this situation, I have to say.
And you know what? I'm sure it will have many more, too.
You know I bet the truth is the event is part of what propelled the kidney to feel better.
Here is why, when you stand and just raise your body up to your toes and the ball of your foot, slowly, then back down... 10 to 15 times in a row, it flushes the blood from your legs back up.
Yes that happens naturally and slower on its own all of the time as the blood circulates. BUT the act of doing it in a repeat set like that forces a cleansing and is good for the liver and the kidneys!
Theresa, just the bending and lifting (heavy stuff) over and over? Marilyn swears it did help her a lot. On top of the original pain, she was holding herself so stiffly that it was causing a new, different pain. So ironically (or not!), this was a blessing for her back.
But we actually believe this is a potential blessing in many ways. It's forced us (especially me) to immediately pare stuff down and dump it. It's made us box up our shelves (we're planning to do more her in bedroom, which was untouched), which is necessary for new carpeting -- and we've WANTED that for ages. We had some work done that didn't get finished (bad hire) that will now be done.
Our attitude is POSITIVE (when isn't it?), and we like to think this happened for GOOD reasons. Anyway, we'll make it end up good in the long run, believe me!
Just the situation with her kidney and back has been such a blessing!
Thanks for all your kind words, as always. You are such a DEAR friend!
Well no it is not so much the bending of the back (although that is good for the new pains created from holding yourself in a new way to brace through the pain you are in) but more about the leg work.
I would say just all the stairs over and over and over because what that does is move that blood from your lower half around more, and that creates more flushing of the liver and kidney naturally.
I am so glad it is all going "well" and I am not surprised at ALL by the attitude you two have hahaha I am just so disappointed that it is NOW and not NEXT week :)

It may be the mold making you allergic. That grows really fast after a flood in the house. I speak from sad experience.
Hang in there, Charlie...and reading that Marilyn's back is almost better is VERY good news!
