So important for you to contact the police or highway patrol and let the know you are a witness. If you can find out who the truck driver was driving for, you should also let them know. As you said, you don't want them to blame the truck driver. Did you think to give your information to him at the site?

I also saw the Facebook post and was glad you weren't hurt in it.
But, it is an awful thing to see.
Hopefully the truck driver doesn't get blamed by the authorities.

OMG...that is horrifying. I suspect that in the immediate aftermath of such a violent accident, they weren't taking declarations and I think you should make yourself known as a direct witness now that they will be investigating causes. That poor truck driver needs all the support he can get.

I am so relieved that you and Marilyn are ok.

Glad you and Marilyn are all right1

I find the authorities' ignoring of you interesting. Aren't they always complaining that no one comes forward? Seems to me the rescue workers ought to concentrate on the rescue and the police take your name and number while helping with the rescue. Some officers even canvass the crowd to find witnesses while other police help with the actual rescue. Weird.
