The Christmas is Down for Another Year

I'd planned to start taking down the Christmas tree today, but not finish it. Just getting out all the boxes for the ornaments, then taking off all the ornaments is a huge chore. I take down the tree in stages, too. First stage is taking off all the tinsel, which takes forever! :) The next day, all the ornaments, and I separate them into very delicate to sturdier, too. Then the next time the strings of lights come off and are carefully stored so no tangling! Finally the break down of the tree and hauling it down to storage.

This year I was later, too, doing the last part just yesterday (I figure if it's still up after January 15th, you're just being lazy, tee hee)! Oh, well, until I took the lights off I had a pretty tree lit up at night for awhile. :)

Strange how it really is that simple. But, I know lots of folks who could have used understanding that a few decades ago...

"the boxes are stored away under the staircase" sounds like a good Christmas song lyric to me...
