Angie's List -- Seriously???

What's the story with Angie's ListWhen my friend Sandy first told me about Angie's List years ago, I thought she was crazy to be using a service she needed to pay for. Since then I've revised my thinking -- obviously, as Marilyn and I have subscribed since September of 2011 ( Read more... )

Congratulations. I'm so proud of you!

I was going to question what Angie's list was, but then I vaguely remember hearing about it. It came out around the same time as Craig's List or that is when we heard about it.

Yeah...get rid of it, especially if you have never once used it.

Do you know how EASY it is to just forget these things and let them AUTO renew, year after year? I'm so very glad that I got on a rip and it got me to finally cancel the damn service. Hahahahaha.

Thanks for the kind words!

(hugs)

Oh wow, the fact you have to pay for the service (something I have to admit I hadn't though of, to be honest) gives me yet another reason to not like Angie's List! I've thankfully never used the service because what I've wanted to know from the start is how can every single "positive review" be verified as real? I mean, what's not to stop business owners from tweaking the system to their advantage, and furthermore, how do you know that any given good review has, in fact, actually been verified? It just seemed like a total "crapshoot" to me (pardon my language *LOL*)! And am I reading correctly in that Angie's List will actually allow businesses to PAY to be higher on the "good business list" so as to heighten their exposure to potential customers and put themselves in a more satisfactory light? That just doesn't seem right at all ( ... )
