Ficathon 2011: We Are Fated

Oct 12, 2011 17:32

This one is meant to be a few key important moments between Venus and Kunzite during the Silver Millennium. I tried to keep any other character involvement to a minimum, and I wanted this to be almost purely from Kunzite's point of view.
As a side note, LJ is evil. I did not realise that it was such a sin to try and keep paragraphs indented when ( Read more... )

OMG!!! Sexy, dark, poignant! I loved it!

This story was so richly imagined and deeply moving it had everything unfounded fear, unbounded love, exile, cruelty, death, suffering, prejudice and, most of all, sacrifice. It is all there, in this beautiful story!!!

LOVED IT!!!!

Thank you soooooo much for posting this online!! It's so much harder for me to find time to be on my computer and read all the ficathon entries, it is insanely easier to find the time to read them online lol.

I ADORE this. A-Fucking-dore this. The use of the stone names as their titles is GENIUS! Seriously that just might make it into my own personal cannon now lol. There are just so many little details that I love about this. Hassan's obession/understanding of war is just so tragically beautiful. It's not something that I would have ever associated with him personally but I love it.

This fucking line!!

Eyes, drained of colour, his irises a watery grey barely distinguishable from the sclera. They called him the white ghost. Holy freaking moses batman. That line is just going to stay with me. It's that line coupled with the fear/nervousness of Venus being able to look him in the eye that does is. Because she SEES it ( ... )

i guessed all of yours except for traffic, which i think is excusable, because that shit ran me over, backed up, ran me over again, and then left me for dead...i didn't think you'd do that to me charlie! i know you're probably not posting it here, but oh, it hurt so good, it was utterly genius!

BUT that is another review for another day. after much deliberation, i came to the conclusion this was my favorite of all your submissions (a process that was kind of like picking my favorite child :P). the language is just so beautiful, and the characterization is so spot on, and the ideas are so brilliantly executed...*sigh* can you just write sil mil forever? some favorite parts...

It was how he served Endymion best.
It was all he knew, it was all he was and it was all he could ever hope to be.
What a naïve fool he had been to have dreamt otherwise

signed, sealed, and delivered - right there, i knew i was going to love this, even if i was also going to angst my poor little heart out :P

Endymion caught his gaze and looked frightened for a ( ... )

His lips moved to her ear, tracing their way along the side of her face, his teeth grazing her cheekbone. “And we’re not even close to half way.” With that he flipped her over and pulled her to the edge of the bed as she cried out in surprise and gripped the sheets on reflex.
BAM, Lytton is dead from awesome. Smexxy awesome.

Ughhh this is so wonderful. So painful, and so wonderful. You always write Kunzite with such skill. His initial jerkiness, his need to be in control, the way that he tries to intimidate Endymion without revealing anything to anyone else, the way that he and Venus both fear each other despite their hot hot sex, his being completely and utterly a warrior.

And the italic parts were brilliant. I thought at first that they were just explorations of Kunzite on the battlefield, but then I realized how unsettling they were becoming, how seamlessly they were becoming warped. What makes it amazing is how it's impossible to tell at what point he became the monster he is at the end. Obviously the man who rescued Endymion by bringing him to the moon (and I LOVE that detail like I can't even describe) was still himself, but it seems like he was beginning to change even before that.

I love this. Love love love. So when do we get more Hooligans? I need to have Hooligans to look forward to before I tackle Traffic.

This coming from the QUEEN of Kunzite is one of the biggest Kunzite-related compliments I have ever gotten.

I'm really glad you enjoyed it.
