I can't even begin to tell you how much I like this. This is perfect, it is funny, it has suspense and it's not even the complete first chapter!
The last bit here made my skin crawl, it reminded me of Gollum meets Lord Voldemort to take over the poor shitennou. LOVE IT! Also, the interaction between the boys is perfect, I giggled myself through it. You managed to weave a complex tale of them being boys and them being shitennou, without making it all so very obvious to them.
And Ceithin's description made my mouth water. Putting a half nakes Kunzite in the first 500 words was such a good idea. SUCH a good idea. ;)

(Case Race = trying to finish a case per person per day. That's 48 beers over 48 hours. You can either not sleep and do 1 an hour, or sleep and pound multiples to make up for it. There are no winners in case race. Only ridiculously drunk losers.)

I have in my mind a few drinking related incidents, oh yes, I couldn't not. But a case race? Haha, I haven't heard of that one before, and now it's as tempting as hell for them to do it! 48 beers in 48 hours...Jeeves, that's gotta have had some pretty insane endings. ^_^

Case races sound easy because it's only one beer an hour, right? WRONG. Unless you're a giant Welsh ninja, or French, your body can't metabolize alcohol as quickly as you're ingesting it. Plus if you count on getting some sleep you have to get rid of 6-8 in advance...it's ugly. Very, very ugly. Friends turn on friends for petty shit and start fighting (oh, requesting that, too. Someone's got to have an inner Mike Tyson!)
