OMG I loved this. The ending and the turn-the-tables move she pulls especially- pitch perfect ( ... )

Good point about the socialization! It was perfectly clear in my head! :) I think it would be awkward for him to go out as just Bruce Wayne, no playing a role, no pretense, just him being him and who the hell is he anyway???

As for the clothes...I think $500 pair of pants would be regular for him. Maybe he conceded to normalness by buying them off the rack!

Thanks for the heads up on mechanical issues. I thought I fixed the 'lessened' thing but I guess not. *sigh* I hate making mistakes like that. Will also fix the bare thing!

Thanks for the thoughtful comments! It is much appreciated!

How's your story coming along? I'm looking forward to the continuation!

You're very welcome! :D Are you done part 3 yet? I can beta it for you if you like- the biggest issue I have with beta-ing while I'm working on something similar is the accusation of plagiarism. But I think we are going in very different directions so I don't mind volunteering. :)

It is coming along nicely- I am very excited about it. :) But we have the family Houji (A sermon and grave visit? It's a yearly Buddhist ceremony for my husband's ancestors.) in Tokyo this weekend so I won't be able to write! I am doing my damndest to have it done by Friday afternoon so I can go over it again upon returning with a fresher perspective, but we will see how it goes. I've given myself 'til the 8th to post it, but I'm just betting ffnet will totally F up my formatting on it. :/

I'm banging my head against the wall on the formatting thing. I have to spend time fixing spacing and other weirdness. Not happy! And, I'm not entirely sure how to edit on fanfic.net after it's been posted. So I think my mistakes are there for all eternity!

Just a quick note to let you know I'm bookmarking this while I wait to see the movie.
Then I'll read it, because your comments on the movie and on this 'ship made me *intensely* curious... :-)

I hope I'm not building it up too much! The Selina character just clicked for me which sent me into fanfic frenzy.

ooh so here is where you've been hiding... but seriously, i enjoyed the read - Selina, the role-play and various what nots remind me some of Saf and Mal. but that's probably the influence of old school Batman on Joss - i'm interested to get to know the new Nolan styled personalities and see them fleshed out and explored.

Bruce has clothing issues right enough, ha-ha, think back to TDR, the scene with him and his companions cavorting about as Rachel spots him. Even his clothes are awkward.
The man can play the Bat - he can't play 'Bruce Wayne' half as well.
(and i'm not talking about Bale)

True about the Bruce Wayne portrayal. Bale is great at showing that awkwardness.

Like the Saf/Mal comparison! Like it a lot.

I'm not much for old school Batman. I saw the Burton flicks, liked them but haven't thought about them in years. Liked the Nolan Batman Begins, loved The Dark Knight but it didn't tickle my fic fancy. Not til Hathaway's portrayal of Selina Kyle. Finally a strong female in these movies!

Here was a man who could do anything, fight anyone, defy death but a night out with a few strangers made him nervous. She liked that. -- His vulnerabilities are never what people assume they would be.

He snuck a look at her, wondering where the angry thief had disappeared to. The woman revealed to him tonight was far different than the one he met in Gotham and he found that he liked Selina Kyle far more than he should. Liked that she didn’t take herself very seriously, liked that she didn’t give a damn what anyone thought of her, liked that she laughed far more easily than he would have imagined. -- I understand where people are coming from with the angry thief, but I'm glad to see someone else write a playful Selina.

Maybe he was just totally stupid when it came to females. Maybe he should know better, especially after not-Miranda. After Rachel. -- Yes and yes. "Not-Miranda," I wish I had thought of that.

When he entered her, she whispered against his ear: “It’s good to be alive, isn’t it?”

It was. -- It damn well ( ... )

Yeah, I tend to think BW is a mass of vulnerabilities that he hides extremely well.

Selina in the movie was angry - who wouldn't be with her record hanging over her and being in with the wrong people. I wanted to examine a different aspect of her that I sensed from her all too brief scenes. Like a woman who wears the cat ears to the dance, that's a woman with humor. Actually, she shows her humor in every scene.

Thanks for the review!
