I'm so glad you posted this! Yes, it's been a while, but this chapter puts us right back with all the characters - all stuck in different ways, all out of their elements, the stress getting higher and higher as each of them try to keep it together...

It's all good, but I particularly like Kaylee here. She's still the same loving Kaylee we know, but in this chapter she's feeling the weight and the worry for all the people she cares about. There's no Captain to take care of her - no Zoe to keep him steady - no wise and worldly Inara handling a tricky situation and making it look easy. And she's responsible for her very, very dangerous, mentally unbalanced friend!

There are so many great details here; how much Jayne likes the jail, how frustrated he is that no one will play board games with him; Simon and Inara's misery (I'd forgotten about the jerky - so awful!); and what's coming between Zoe and Mal.

*rubs hands together* Let's get to work on Chapter 7!

I'm glad I posted, too. It's not perfect but it does get me moving so what the hell??

I've started chapter 7! Maybe it won't be ten months before I post!

But I gots all kinds of issues to discuss with regards to the next part... :)
