ZOMG WE ARE ON TEH INTERNETS

Verizon (after lying to me several additional times, presumably for good measure) finally admitted today that they had absolutely no intent of actually providing us with DSL service. In response we signed up with Charter for cable Internet, which (while, sadly, it's going to run us an extra $20 a month) apparently will actually be up and running on ( Read more... )

This is just to let everyone out there wondering know that, no, we still don't have internet access at home. Current best estimate is Monday, unless it turns out they can't boost a DSL signal enough to reach our house, in which case the best estimate is "however long it takes us to sign up with Comcast."

As we await the unfortunate arrival of my parents (currently enjoying a rather extensive crazy spell) with the moving van, I am shutting down the computer and breaking it down into its component parts.
