It was dark and he stubbed his toe en-route to the window, hopping and cursing as he staggered to see what the hell was going on.

Loud groaning of tortured metal, a sharp angry scrape and something leathery like huge wings, or a bunch of emo kids flapping their trench-coats in unison. Still asleep his mind played, throwing up bizarre suggestions.

His eyes joined the game. At first glance through the grubby pane he thought he saw a Dragon. A huge heraldic beast, smoke at it's nostrals and eyes that stared at him, through him, stripping him to his very soul.

He blinked and the night expanded. Cool air rushed to fill a sudden void. Trees relaxed, stopping their frantic dances.

The canopy across the street was dented, a support beam wrecked. Upon it sat a cat. An unconcerned marmalade cat. He stared at it, no way it cause such destruction. The cat stared back. AS he watched it raised a paw and licked it.

Do we need to add dragons to our Wizard World? I'm not sure how good of familiars they would be.

Made me laugh. Dragons, they always assume everything will hold them.
