Dear Diary, Dick is more experienced at these things but still he was excited at the little fluttering he felt today. Dick says that he guesses this is what they call quickening but I can’t imagine what it must feel like to have something wiggling up there. I shudder just thinking of it. Then again the sound wasn’t too terrible to experience.. Not at all, as I remember it, there was shuddering for an entirely different reason. But that is from a different time in what is now my past and I need to put such memories away, not dwell on them. Anyway, had to laugh as Dick got all covert action, checking where the djinnlings are, (and how fearful is that that privacy becomes such a furtive thing) before he disclosed how Kain assists with his adjustment to pre-birth baby shenanigans. Sands how much they are in love with each other. Since a application of mouth to the problem is out of the question for me, improvisization seems to be in order. The pregnancy book describes the technique as good practice for the birthing and that regular usage will acclimate both parent and djinnling to the birthing process. As it’s suggested that the nipples should be rolled while all this practicing is being done, I can see a need to learn how to roll with one hand while ..um.. Stroking and rolling with the other. Kind of like patting one’s head while rubbing one’s tummy at the same time. I snicker that this too is practice for later infant care, this being able to multi-task.
Later-- Stars and Sands. I experienced feeling the fluttering this night. Odd weird feeling. It was just discernable when I pressed down with my hand. Must remember to ask Dick tomorrow, as to when it’s safe to begin ‘the stroke and roll’ routine. I’m not sure how Kain feels about all of this sharing. It’s difficult to read him, but I do keep getting the impression from him that he thinks I should try to contact my former lover to work things out. Like there is anything to work things out about. Think the text message was pretty clear AND that it was delivered by his secretary or whatever, makes it even more so. Really need to stop sinking into morose second guessings of myself and concentrate on the joy of a future djinnling advent.
Note to self: Self buy a binder to hold notes I should be taking on what I’ve read in the pregnancy books. Dividers would be good too for a pregnancy section and an early child care section. Wonder if I can request or do a quick trip to check out other materials from the Archive. Since he’s busy, I won’t have to worry about an inadvertent meeting and I don’t want to leave obtaining materials until when the pregnancy is more advanced. Kind of late then for any knowledge to do any good.
There are disadvantages with having a computer for a container. My thoughts keep wanting to vomit themselves up and the CPU is right there to facilitate it. Neeeeeed to sleep.
A far distance away, eyes read the words posted. Perhaps the writer didn’t realize that anyone would be reading them or perhaps they didn‘t care if anyone did. A slow smirk spread across the lips of the reader. Consideration was given whether to leave a caustic comment or to leave the writer unknowing that anyone would find his silly inner musings of any interest at all.

Dear Diary, Shopping with a Dick is exhausting. Where does he get all this fucking energy? ..
Oh. Never mind and forget I even asked that.
Things bought today include:
New and Improved wardrobe
Ingredients- for ‘cream to prevent stretch marks’
Binder, dividers, and REAMS of paper. I miss the reaming.
Cutesy scrapbook items- for decoration. Soooo cheesy but cuuuuute.
Notebook- for the taking of notes in.
Ginger Ale - this nausea thing has got to stop
Pre-natal vitamins- Dick swears by them. Food cravings have started. What already?!
Messenger style backpack.
Tape measure.
Dick wants to do a log of ‘how bellies do swell’. We should have bought a new memory chip for the camera. It would be kind of interesting to show a side view of the bellies in question as girth increased.
‘Stroke and Roll’ is coming right along. *snickers* It does get easier with practice. Lots of practice. Lots and lots of practice. At the rate it’s going should be able to feed and change a djinnling at one and the same time.
Dear Diary, Am back from another exhausting trip. I am with books. Think these may be the same ones we used for researching with Dick’s first pregnancy. Think of all the time that could have been saved, not to mention the travel, if we’d constructed a book like we are now, then.
No problems with gaining entrance to the Archive. All the personnel seem to be busy doing other things though there were a few times when turning a corner in some of the book stacks where I had to creep away. Librarians do need relaxation occasionally and they take it where they will; usually in pairs but there were a few times when there were more. Inadvertent sex lives of Library staff research. Should have known what a randy bunch they are after my own participation in the activity on those visits I made before everything fell apart. My lack of past perception.. Well, I was being distracted. I..will.. NOT ..cry.
Stupid hormones.
The reader skimmed the entry… yada yada yada .. The little bitch was shopping, researching some more, and whining again. The researching might have proven a problem but as the visit was already over and done with without mishap; no harm was done. He calmly moved the entries to the recycle bin on his computer. The Archive’s server quietly and efficiently auto-saved the deleted files in its recently improved security backup system. They would be reviewed several times over several intervals to determine if a mistake in their removal had been made before final deletion took place.
