Summary: The much awaited start; the Master Librarian is moved to meet with a patron of his Library. Warning the Librarian is, as they say, somewhat 'anal' in his attention to details, and micro-manage much?
Things had been quiet at the Ancient and Honorable Djinn Library, ‘the calm before the storm perhaps’, was the thought of the Master Djinn Librarian. With a sigh and a roll of his eyes the thoughts passed in his head of all the books that were coming up to be due, the reports and summaries of research that had resulted’s due dates, and the individuals who had recently made use of the Library. Everything, as usual, tended to happen all at the same time. Admittedly this allowed for down time for rest, food, the odd moment of current sexual interest, clean up, repair; he could continue the itemizing but really it was becoming more of a task in its listing than to just know that there were indeed more things that he had to fit into his day.
This downtime he had scheduled a follow up on a side interest of some research that had been successfully completed and report finally handed in on time. Most unusual. Yet it wasn’t the report or research that had caught his attention. It was the requester of the information and conveyor of the resultant report. That individual was also a blogger detailing the activities of the establishment for which he worked. A very select blog, in fact, as it was categorized as “Just me (Private) but when would that be a problem for a Djinn of his caliber.
Many times had he raised his eyebrows in wonder and amusement at some of the events chronicled. Surely some of the things written down had to be exaggerated or down right falsified. Though he did remember the demon containing scroll passing through the archive at one time before it had passed out again. Odd that he hadn’t noticed it being missing from the collection.* Most odd. It needed follow up and a thorough investigation. Perhaps he should look into it personally.
First he’d need to caution the Library Guardian about his nephew’s dallying with the Library’s potential in-person patrons. The lad was a good djinn but was prone to distraction. A little more guidance and perhaps some steady companionship; an excellent excuse to visit the Lustful Liaisons shop and request a long term usage agreement for…now what was the boy’s name, ah Pell.**
Later, after assuring himself that; his 2nd class apprentice Librarian was able to keep up on the overdues, his 3rd class apprentice Librarian would monitor the reports and summaries schedules, and that his Head apprentice was quite capable of coercing compliance of malingerers; the Master Librarian surreptitiously
slipped into the Sands transportation system for a much needed vacation cum investigation.
Tongue in cheek, he intended that there would be some piercing oral intercourse between himself and a certain djinn blogger. Yes, ‘in depth’ research was definitely called for, for he‘d seen a photo posted on Steve’s blog. He made a note to discover if a copy of the Djinn-Delights was missing from his Library.*** It would give them something to talk about between the give and take of their ‘discussions‘, when they weren’t reading through the blog, that was.
