For all you sci-fi fans out there...

Please don't buy this man's books.

I have never read anything by John C. Wright, nor do I intend to. But in case you do, you might want to think twice about giving a homophobic asshole your money.

books, stupid people

You'd think an author of sci-fi novels would be a bit more.. open-minded? I'll make sure to steer clear of this one, thanks.

Ever heard of Orson Scott Card?

In any event, I've never heard of Wright nor read any of his books, so future avoidance will be easy.

(And if it turns out that people whose judgment I trust insist that they are good and worth reading, since he himself said that they were all written before his conversion, then one can always borrow them from the library and thus read them without giving him any money.)

Check out the quote on his Wiki.

"At the age of 42, Wright converted from atheism to Christianity. In 2008 he converted to the Roman Catholic Church of which he approvingly stated "If Vulcans had a church, they'd be Catholics."

I agree with you. He has the right to say what he wants and I have the right to avoid supporting his right by buying (or buying into) his crap.

"It's a pretty simple equation, really. Limited lifespan divided by number of books it's possible to consume due to vagaries of money and mortality equals I am not buying your books if you behave like a fuckmuppet in public." ( source)
