I would definitely call the pharmacy first to see if they can help you. You may be surprised what they can do for you. I would then do option two, as in taking them every other day to ration them out, to me it seems like that would be less dangerous then going without them for 4 whole days. I'm not sure, really. But, I would drink lots of extra water, and try extra hard to avoid excess sodium (which I know is hard with the holiday!!!!) :( Try to get some rest if you can the next few days and take care of yourself!

I agree with the other person who commented - talk to the pharmacist, explain the situation and tell them that you're really worried about the situation - they also may be able to give you advice on what to do with the medication in the meantime, or even advise something that's not over the counter, maybe, that would be cheaper. Otherwise, in my definitely-not-a-doctor advice, I'd say take them every other day, because that way you still have it in your bloodstream and won't risk withdrawal or anything like that in the way that you would by completely going without.

Can you stand eating raw garlic? It's fantastic for regulating blood pressure, and works fast. I always recommend that anybody with blood pressure problems eat at least 1 clove of raw garlic daily; it got my ex-mother-in-law off medication altogether. That said, if your dosage of the medicine is 3 pills a day, I wouldn't ration them -- that might be worse than not taking them at all (many drugs rely on a residual amount to still be present in your body, which is why they're prescribed in the amounts they are and spaced out just so).

However, why not call your pharmacy? They may be able to help, and even if not, they can tell you for sure if rationing is better with the drugs and dosage you're on.

I feel ya on the broke thing. Trying to decide if shampoo is important enough to use the credit card for... ;)

Aww! *hugs* I'd say b) or c) - don't let yourself get too low on such important meds.

Here's what you do.

First, contact the pharmacy and see if they can spot you four pills.

Failing that, cut the pills in half. The reduced dosage on a regular basis is less of a shock to the system than skipping days.

On the final day, if you need it (and this is just pure theory on my part, but it's worked for me before) fill the empty pill jar with water, shake it up, and drink it.
