High School problems....

Ugh.. having problems with my daughters' high school. This guy in Brenda's gym class keeps assaulting her - first he grabbed her rear while pretending to read the back of her shirt to get around behind her (he grabbed her all the way up to her crotch, she said), then today he pushed her into a corner and was touching her and saying "What are you ( Read more... )

I don't know about the whole police report thing at this point but I definately think you should go up to the school with her tomorrow. she might be embarassed now but in the long run, she'll be glad you were with her (and I know this from personal experience, haha). and if the other girl who tried to help her and was also assaulted would show up and tell her side of it too, it would probably be helpful.

just tell your girl not to be afraid or embarrased about any of this. it isn't her fault and by speaking up, hopefully she'll be able to prevent this perv from hurting anyone else.

good luck!! :) :-/

Stay on top of them. I'm sure things have gotten better since then, but I remember losing "friends" when I was in school because I'd get annoyed at them for grabbing a girl who didn't want the attention, and school administrators not following up on this kind of thing because they didn't take it seriously. Mention something about turning this over to your lawyer, and I'm sure the VP will do everything possible.

Ask the VP why he's allowing his students to create a hostile environment and much more importantly, why is looking the other way when the school is legally liable for this?

This is sexual assault. Treat it that way.

I'd call the police department anyway (use the non-emergency line) and see what they say. This is a very serious thing.

Of course, she'll probably need to produce the other girl as a witness (sad but true), but that shouldn't be too much of a problem.
