Last night I was up quite late because about 12' from my condo they were ripping up the street (as in RIGHT outside, just past my very narrow yard). They were jack-hammering away, having started before I got home. At about 11 PM I went out to find out what this was about, and apparently some water pipes had leaked and were flooding the houses ( Read more... )

She's deaf, so she missed most of it, but not all. There were still flashing/rotating lights outside and some vibration as well. Also, since I was up, I think that disrupted her routing a little. Not too much though. For the most part she behaved fairly normally. Now if she could hear...

That's horribly unsettling. Hopefully there's another drain or sewer inlet that the overflow will hit before it reaches anything that can be damaged.

Since your stuff was technically dry this morning, maybe you can rush out and pick up some flood insurance before you get home! *smirks* Seriously, I'll pray that it doesn't get to you.
