I found a source for gilt buttons, not too expensive, so I can start on my gold fleur-de-lis gown soon. All other buttons I've found have been crazy-spendy. Much as I'm willing to invest in my good costumes, I just cannot swing $8+ a button for a dress.

The fleurs are gold, and the gown is cream. I'm going to make a 1380s gown with silk tippets, if I ever get around to it!
