Late last week, I posted something on my live journal, criticizing a practice that I heard about at Pennsic. Since it was hearsay, it was a rumor, whether or not it was true. It turns out it wasn’t true, and I edited my post accordingly. I suspect that one thing was said and another was heard, not anybody’s fault, but a bit of a game of telephone.

I forgot to mention - I did consider just deleting the entire post - it was somewhat ill-conceived and I was cranky anyway. But then people might have read one version and not the other.

And then there are times that people start rumors to be malicious, or further themselves because thats the only way they know how.
the first two are forgivable, mistakes, that everyone makes sometimes in their lives.
the last is unforgivable, and shows the true nature of a persons soul.
I doubt very much that you are the latter :) And I always welcomed people coming to me with the rumors so that I can laugh, and set them straight. Sometimes, I like the entertainment value. :)
