about a month later than they first appeared last year. new camera works better than old camera. up close nature pics will be fun to take. i accidentally set it to wide screen somehow.

Wait ~ did you tell us about getting the new camera? I know you were talking about needing one, but don't remember it happening.

The photos look great, especially the last one! Just make sure to remember to take it along on your walks ;)

My new camera has a wider ratio than the old one, so it looks a little odd to me. I think it's 4x6 & the old one was more like 5x3.5. There may even be a way to change that, but it's no problem ~ they are both standard photos sizes, so I'm just going to post the photos 600 pixels wide instead of 500. I don't think anyone will mind bigger pics!

You should check out the manual to see how to switch the wide screen back & forth. And keep the book out ~ you can find out a lot of great tips from the manuals, once you start flipping through them.

yes, mom just got it in the mail for me yesterday! i wound up just telling her "look, here are some brands -- get me something that i don't need to buy batteries for, that has options for close-up and low-light" and i wound up getting a Nikon Coolpix s630 or something of that approximate number and description. i haven't really explored it yet as far as capabilities, but it should get the job done! i needed something that is idiot proof but which has the options to do nice and fancy things if i can be bothered to figure it out.

anyway, close-up flowers and mushrooms are my main concern! i'll see if it makes me look human if i take a picture with it, next. it also works on cats. :)

Yay!!

Just make sure you are using the macro setting for the shrooms & such. You may also want to see about how to change the area of focus, in case the detail you want is on the right/left or something.

And yes, Indy is one of my main models! I have a ton of cat photos.

WOW! You really must do more wide screen shots. Those are wonderful. Especially the second one. It almost has a 3-D effect to it.

it was a complete accident that i wound up on that setting -- i never read manuals, i just start pressing buttons, ha!! i mean i'll eventually read the manual but i am a hands-on/visual learner, so reading instructions won't do anything for me unless i actually go through the motions in the real world! :)
