Sketch - Strawberries with whipped cream

I have just sketched something that I had in mind to get ready for the Viewfinder recipe book as a dessert for Fei Long... that's Asami offering him strawberries with whipped cream XD
I couldn't do it for february, but I was told that there was not a tight deadline so as soon as I got a bit of free time I gave it a try.

but.. but.. but.. it's beautiful! the idea, the subject itself is great, and the pic came totally good! so even if, reaaally going into details, ok they look a tiny bit young, it doesn't matter, it's not disturbing, and btw there's no doubt about who it is.. Asami being sweet is OK, it's a fantasy, meaning it's not like happening tomorrow in canon anyway, and exactly this sweetness makes the pic warm at heart. his expression is very interesting. and Fei Long looking up to him dreamily fits into this too..

as to your points:
3- certainly NOT!!! i love it!!! <3 <3
1- i'd say yes, maybe with some details on Fei Long's cheongsam, like motives
2- try but as an alternative, i mean going on with this one anyway but having a try once you have this one finished and looking its best..

ok i get your point about the sweet.. and yes you could call Asami very caring in FOHL, kinda sweet, absolutely true. that's why i liked this expression on him, since it's not alien at all, just a bit past time after NT18.. (well for me it isn't, since there's a parallel universe where they are back together XD)
but yeah, being older adults now, there would be more relaxed smexxiness, joking challenging mischievousness in their expressions.

since this jpg is digital media here, you'll keep this sketch pic anyway, and you could present it as well, if you'd rather continue with a new version to the end for posting in a comm. and i'd love to see the version with different face expressions too!
i thought you'd put more details like the fruit etc anyway, sure. i just mentioned Fei Long's cheongsam with motives so the contrast is clear from Asami's shirt ^^

It's a gorgeous picture. I wish I had your talent. Asami looks especially hot. I think the expressions have a dream like quality, and I can completely buy into the fantasy. I wish a strong guy like Asami would look at me with that indulgent expression *sighs

Ok, I think I know what you're getting at (apologies if I totally miss it!). I like the picture so please don't chuck it. But I get what you're saying about Fei's face. I see what you mean about it being too naive and young. I think a more confident, genuine smile would be in order. Something that says "I'm very happy/content/whatever that we're together" and not "I'm such in awe of you!" You know, all doe-eyed and mess.

I'm thinking more along the lines of those genuine smiles he gives to Tao. Not saying that Asami and Tao are on the same level, but Fei only gives that kind of smile to someone very near and dear to his heart. I wasn't able to scan it but I think I may have found what I mean. I read through VF again. I skipped to NT 6-12. On pg 15, when he looks at Tao, that's kinda what I mean.

Apologies if any of this is unclear. Let me know and I'll try to be more precise in the future =)

I totally understood what you mean, because it's just part of what I was complaining about: I wanted the guys expressions more mischievous than sweet but, like almost always happens to me, I am not able to get it.
It would be so great if someone could draw the things just like they are in their mind!! XDDD
Oh but I'll try to get something different, at least from Fei Long's face, because I think that even Asami's smile, its meaning at the eyes of the viewer can change if it's different the other part's expression ^_-

I'm going to work on Fei Long's eyes/expression since I think that it's what can change the meaning of the whole thing, because you can see even Asami's smile more mischievous if the look on Fei Long's face isn't so naive ^_-
If I cannot get something better, I'll do it again from the beginning hoping it comes out different ^_^

Forse volevi dare un'aria più sensuale che dolce? In questo caso basta modificare leggerissimamente le espressioni.

Infatti! Quello che volevo era più un qualcosa giocato sulla malizia/sensualità che non sulla dolcezza. Asami secondo me va bene così, nel senso che basta modificare ed ottenere la giusta espressione sul viso di Fei Long (e magari renderlo più maturo) che poi di conseguenza il sorriso di Asami può essere visto con un altro significato. Il problema è riuscirci, nel senso che io in genere non riesco mai ad aggiustare le cose: quando non vengono come vorrei, preferisco rifarle da capo che perdere tempo a provare a modificarle, già sapendo che non riuscirò ad ottenere di meglio. Ma forse vale la pena di provare qui, prima di rifare tutto ^_-
