Wow. JUST arrived on the flist to see this. And just...wow. LOVE it. Don't agree with it all (but that's why life is interesting, hey?) but love the concept and what you've done here.

LOST. I NEED TO WATCH IT. It's your numero uno? Wow (oh, I've said that before - in triplicate)

Thanks Vivetta. I really enjoyed reading through this (but I didn't read the Lost info due to spoilers). I would include Dexter, Mad Men, Deadwood and Life on Mars in my top 10. I don't know what I'd do with Prison Break, to be frank - it's great you've put it at number 2.

Happy NY. Thanks for being around and for the wonderful chats over the last few years. i crave them at times. Lots of love and Death of a Salesman,

Arthur Miller xx

PS: I love Mad Men so much it hurts me. We have finished. I am in MM limbo...sierra_foxx sent me season I of Big Love so I think I will try to heal with some more HBO juice

Oh, and I can't lie either.

If I could, I would draw a heart and write:

Michael C Hall 4 Moi, sitting in a tree,
K.I.S.S.I.N.G...

Love him to bits.

By far I spent the most time pondering what to do about Prison Break. I still have no objectivity when it comes to this show. Seasons 1 & 2 still look good to me, and I would recommend it to anyone, as I would with any show on this list. But I did originally have it way down around number 6? I think? and that didn't seem right either. I switched right before I made the final list. So, yeah.

I'm just so glad to be back in the swing of things...I
miss The LJ when life-stuff pulls me away.

The Office is a special show for me too, Maureen. Sometimes it's so much like MY job that I can't believe it's not secretly written by one of my co-workers *g*. Even for me, after my Jim/Pam obsession has faded away, I still like them, and the rest of the characters are brilliant. I'm glad you have a new show that makes you happy!

Ok of your top 10, Prison Break is the only one I've seen all seasons.
On Dexter I'm stuck in season 2, hadn't had the time to catch up.
For Lost, I LOVE the concept too, and I'm somehow caught up on last season, but my viewing of the couple last seasons has been hectic. although I can't wait for 6th season to finally figure it out! lol

L&O : I enjoy watching an episode when I catch one on tv here but I'm not an avid follower.

The other shows I haven't not watch but I've heard about :)

Nice list and concept Viva!

Happy New Year to you!

If you've seen every season of Prison Break you're doing better than me! I've never watched Season 3. Maybe I will some day but I'm in no hurry *g*.

I love Lost but I know it's not for everyone. These are just my personal choices!

Are you in Canada now? Squeeeeee!

Now this is exciting! *g*

Hmmm...I don't agree with everything on here, like Lost, sorry, but I do agree with a lot.

I did not know you had Law and Order love. *g* I do as well, and I agree this cast is excellent. I was unsure of Mike, the ADA when he first started but he has really grown on me. Also, this year has been excellent!

I think this would be fun to do. *g*

You should definitely do it! I would love to see some folks' choices.

Oh, Cathy, Mike/Connie just hit me out of nowhere and now I ship them so hard! I really didn't like Mike Cutter at first either--I don't think we were MEANT to like him, really, he was so dry and serious. But the character has really grown on me. I crack up every time he pulls out the blackberry and starts typing, LOL. Plus I think he's really developed strong feelings for Connie, that are probably not particularly reciprocated, and that adds a vulnerability to his character. Awwww, poor Mike, LOL.

I just heard that L&O was renewed for Season *21*, which surprised me. Hopefully no more cast changes though!

Ok, I'm downloading the pilot of The Black Donnellys as we speak. *g* I'm waiting for the rest to download--I watched the first scene, and oh Viva, I'm hooked.

Where are the bodies? And Joey Ice Cream who changes his story every other sentence? Right up my alley! (I hope this feelings lasts, and that not being part Irish won't work against me in really getting the show)

Couple of questions though: [1] I thought you liked The Closer (good ensemble show, good writing) so I was surprised that it didn't even get an Honorable Mention; and [2] just for the sake of argument, suppose The X-files began in 2000--where would it rank on your list?

I do like The Closer, but I guess I feel that anything on this list is more than just entertaining, it has to have that ~certain something~ that The Closer lacks. Plus it's a procedural drama, and the available spot for THAT genre was filled by Law & Order. Yes, there was quota filling involved here, LOL.

You know, I believe that if the X-Files came out today I would still be a fan but certainly not to the extent I was in the late 90s. Then again, this is an impossible question because without the X-Files, arguably there IS no Lost. So there you have it--ladies and gentleman, a paradox!

Once again, I'm psyched that you're watching The Black Donnellys, and especially that you were hooked from the first scene. I still remember getting caught up in those first moments only to have Joey Ice Cream be contradicted by the cops and take everything back! LOL what a great show.

It's 1999, I'm flush and I'm ready to go *Smooth plays in background*

Then he says it's 2002, then finally it's 2005 after a night "with a woman who wouldn't stop". LOL I love Joey Ice Cream. I mean, with a name like that? "Because under pressure, I'm like ice." LOLOL

And Tommy is so beautifully conflicted. All buttons have been pushed, definitely. *g*
