Pocketbook purchases

I got into a discussion with dierdre recently about her buying a new pocketbook. She says most women use 2 or 3 a year. I hadn't noticed this before. So I'm asking my female friends how many pocketbook/purses do you go through a year?

I use one daily, and then I have one small clutch that I take if I am going to a wedding, ball, or something formal.

My daily one used to last me several years; however, now that my purse/diaper bag is one in the same it gets totally abused and only lasts about 6 months.

I've used four my entire life. The one I used mostly in HS I had since preschool, and still have every one I've ever used. I'd probably still use it now, but it's a wallet-chain type dealie with cutsie hearts that doesn't quite fit all the crap I carry in my current wallet.

I am on my 2nd new bag this year, and own (and still use) 5 other's

so i have a total of 8 bags

i usually have one MAIN pocketbook (black) and will use it for years. then i will at various points buy one or two others (say in beige or brown), which will last for even more years bc i don't use them as much.
so, right now i have about 4 pocketbooks i could choose from, but i haven't bought any in 2 years, and probably won't for a while.

so, i guess i buy one every couple of years (but at certain points in my life might buy more or less often), and now that i have a good stable of pocketbooks, i'm good for a WHILE. :-)

i like talking about pocketbooks.
