Darling Daughter just brought home the third head lice notice for this school year. It's the second for her class - once at the main school and once in the after school class. The boy brought one home too. Fortunately, neither of them have shown signs, but I dread it and check them every day. Like your Scout, my Katie has long hair, and it's this and CURLY. If she ends up with the buggers, I don't know what I'm going to do.

I certainly don't envy you the political race you have to deal with. I came to the conclusion many years ago that 99% of politicians are idiots, and if you weren't and idiot before and decide to go into politics, you become one. Out here in California, we've got a nasty race going on. eBay's former CEO Meg Whitman against former governor and Attorney General Jerry Brown. Ads on both sides are just vicious. Honestly, it makes me want to NOT vote because I hate them both.

BTW, LOVE the journal style. Where'd you get it?

The lice thing was awful...but it could have been worse, so we just did what we had to do and tried to laugh at it. Thank god we had a lot of Death Note to watch while we (husband and I took turns) sat for an hour, week after week, combing the kid's hair. I learned all about the life cycle of the louse though, so if you do get infested, feel free to ask for tips :)

Oh politicians! I am a news junkie, so I probably know more than is good for my sanity. It is so frustrating when there is a politician or candidate whom you can at least tolerate, then they do something stupid, like contemplate calling their opponent a whore. *headdesk* Stay classy!

I found the layout at freelayouts and the creator is mercscilla.

Very productive day! Icky about the lice though, hope she doesn't come home with it! Nasty little house guests.

Politicians piss me off. I liked politics better when I didn't know what was going on, and now I shake my head in disappointment so much that I think it's going to fall off :P

Have a wonderful rest of the day!

Better lice than bedbugs, but I don't want either.

I like knowing what going on, but I hate it when the guy who I feel like is *mostly* fighting the good fight does something stupid. I think he lost the race with this ad.

You have a great rest of the day too! I was at dance class, trying to fix formatting gggggrrrrrrrrrrrr and now I'm home with a glass of wine and going to bed soon. I've found I really like getting seven hours of sleep :P

I like knowing what's going on, but I think ignorance was bliss for me. I liked it when I didn't think politicians were all crooked or idiots.

Mmm wine. I bought some pumpkin ale, never tried it so I hope it's good!

It's good to stay busy though :) Makes the time go faster or whatever.

We never had lice outbreaks when I was in school. I got it from a cousin who got it at summer camp, but it wasn't during school session. Thank god--I would have died from shame.

I guess that's what is driving me crazy. Kentucky politicians are totally conservative and typically break their back bending over to kiss the religious right's ass. So Conway won the primary and I was so happy because he is smart and moderate and not a tool for social conservatives. When the poll numbers started to show that he was making substantial ground, I was elated. Then this stupid, stupid ad. I don't know what they were thinking. No person who was on the fence has decided to vote for Conway because of this ad.

What's worse the state I grew up in, Wisconsin, is crawling with tea partiers too. Russ Feingold might actually lose his seat. So frustrated. Okay...lol I'll stop with the politics! Sorry ;P
