Why are you in Kenya, by the way? Is it a UN thingy, or did you just decide you wanted to see cute baby animals and the Bronx Zoo was inadequate?

Also, I will be home in the Christmastime. Will you be around to perhaps do a movie?

Yeah, it was a work thingy. Even I'm not crazy enough to just up and decide "You know, I feel like going to Kenya this week. Tally ho!"

Christmas time is good! I will be around the whole holiday week. I wish we'd seen Ninja Assassin, though. That would have ruled.

The Brits occupied lots of Africa, right? Well, many units of the British Army have Scottish roots & some of them used to have drum & bagpipe corps to serenade them into battle. So it's not unpossible that some unit of the Kenyan army took up that tradition after the colony power left.
