[It didn't take chaos long from waking up to realize something seemed off somehow.  It wasn't that he was back in Mayfield, he wasn't quite sure if he'd actually left, but he knew the dates were way off from what they had been the last time he recalled, and he had tended to keep track pretty steadily.  The images in the house also seemed different

[chaos sort of laughs softly. What he's about to say is really in some ways a lie, but as he does not know Ashton well, his old personality of hiding behind a smile has kicked in.]

It's not really chipper, I've just always been laid back about many things. One of those things is waiting.

Yes. Because no matter what this place does, I know that eventually we will all find a way out if we so desire to return home.

It can hurt when hope is dashed, but keeping it is so much better than losing it entirely.
