- If you don't know how to spell a word, particularly if it is foreign, don't use it. Voila is not properly spelled "walla". It may, in some bizarrely non-French world, be pronounced "walla", but it isn't spelled that way.
- In the same vein, doozie is not spelled "doosie."
- The ellipsis is not the be-all and end-all of punctuation.

There's a story that has, as a major plot point, the misspelling of "seafoam" (as in green) as "c-foam". It's a lot like that. Do not use words that you do not know how to spell! Or pronounce! You will look like an asshat!

Where there is no logical fucking reason for it to be. Not that there is ever a logical reason for an ellipse, given that not too many people on my flist are posting scholarly screeds that have been properly footnoted and everything and have quotations that are too long to keep intact (or veer off into irrelevancies before going back to whatever it is I'd like to bring to bear on my argument).
But honestly! Read the first sentence of my comment! Am I not witteh? I am a written genius, I tell you, because I can assrape an ellipse with the best of them!
