Kate knew a bluff when she saw one, or, at the very least, a thinly veiled threat. They didn't have any leverage on her yet but they were getting desperate for her attention. Desperate enough to start slinging around threats about her family.
Well they had it. Kate stuffed the phone in her pocket and hailed a taxi. She'd play ball, but only long enough to find out what they knew and maybe to shoot that gingery bitch.
Thad was fine, they didn't know where he was, hell, Kate didn't even know where he was. He was fine, idiot like him stayed under the radar just by being unimportant. He was fine.
Dana smiled quietly at the message. They always came back, people like Kate. They were born, lived and died on the streets and where there was a job - they'd do it.
She sat waiting in the cafe - no coffee this time. This was just business.

Coffee in ten minutes. It's a shame your brother can't make it. - Mum
That ought to get her attention.
Dana, still in her office called in one of her assistants.
"Get someone to bring in Freelander's brother... Do it now..." she muttered, working to a tight schedule.
