For some reason I thought you were already in a relationship.

I am. Doesn't change too much, though, unfortunately. Probably. We'll see.

I hear you on the adoption thing. I'm aware my feelings might change as I get older, but at this point I'm much more invested in being a mother someday than I am in birthing a baby. Plus everything you said. :)

I like the idea of fostering/adopting way better than biological kids, myself. For the same reasons--why would I bring more people into the world who will need looking after when there are so many who are not looked after, and who would want these effed up genes, anyway?

I don't think you have to give up on your love life. There are guys out there that support fostering and adoption, and there are couples who adopt out of the goodness of their hearts, not because of infertility.

There was a newspaper article about a family near where I live that adopts only special needs kids. They have like eight of them, maybe more now.

You just have to find someone with the same passion for it as you. They're out there. Perhaps you should consider holding off on your goals to foster and adopt until you find someone, so that you can be sure of the kids having the stability to speak of, but still find the partner in life that you desire.

Good luck! :)

Thanks for reminding me that there are people out there who'd want this, too. Judging from other comments, I have more hope that I'll be able to have both a husband someday and foster/adopt.
