Great commentary. I agree with you! I feel the blue eyed man is involved, but he could be the messenger.

Augh, poor, poor Vera!

Ooh, good point! Whoever is actually at the head of this is more likely to, I don't know, stick to their big leather chair in their shadowy office headquarters, where they can spin around dramatically to reveal themselves at the key moment. Or something. But him being the messenger makes a lot of sense.

Yeah, I was so happy to finally see her doing stuff with the Torchwood team, and then we get this. For her sake, I hope it doesn't turn out that people are still aware even after their bodies are destroyed. Because that is almost too horrifying to comprehend.

Yeah, I don't think that's even possible, though. If your nerve endings are gone, I can't imagine you would feel pain, and if you're completely destroyed with no brain function, you wouldn't be aware of anything.

I'm not sure what could really be done for someone who was mostly dead but still conscious, except to block the nerve endings messaging the brain in some way, so if you had awareness, at least you wouldn't be suffering. It seems like a better way to go than to keep giving them PhiCorp painkillers.

Man, I hope so. I think sentient piles of ash would be a bit too much suspension of disbelief.

It seems like a better way to go than to keep giving them PhiCorp painkillers.

Oh, absolutely. But with PhiCorp running the show, no one's really going to take the time to develop something like that.

My main concern about the Category 1 bodies is that they clearly aren't doing as good a job as they could be making sure everyone's in the correct category, so there's a good chance there are people being put in these ovens who might still survive post-miracle, if they have the chance to get better now (a la Rex).
