WTF? The post office doesn't close until six-thirty. Why do they do that?

I asked once. Apparently it's so they can sort.

Yes, that would make sense, except it's only with some packages. Sometimes you can just go right over and fetch it. So, gah. *boggles*

Yeah, I've noticed that too. I would have pressed the issue to get to bottom of it but even though I asked the question in a tone mild curiosity, it must be a sore spot for them because she got shirty with me. I let it drop, I didn't want to cause an issue over it.

I went into the Post Office to send a whole batch of late Xmas presents and to pick up my package, and as it turns out, everyone who got a "after 1:00pm" tag yesterday had their packages delayed in Richmond until after 5pm, except mine. There were six angry tag-clutching people standing behind me. I was not sure I would escape with my life. ;)
