Tale of Two Computers...

Like I mentioned last week, both my desktop and Laptop had quit on me. I was without a system for almost the whole of last week, prompting me to revive my P3 system to atleast check my mails. But that is not the entire story, oddly it gets weirder and (maybe) funnier.

Ha ha :) so a new laptop.

I also wanted to buy a 12' Laptop but in a hurry ended up buying a 14' HP. It works great though but cant carry around.

Recently my eyes feel on sony vio, so sleek and slim, feel in love at first sight. May be some day will buy it.

I am not very attracted to the Vaio :( its coz I feel that Sony charges you extra just for the name. But like the Apple its finishing is just too good.

Have a look at the Acer 13" laptop, I thought it looked pretty good. The reason I didnt consider it was coz I knew i was comfy with a 12" screen.

LOL! Sounds like the issues I faced last year with my DELL and finally resorted to buy a new one. Although I did not dare open the DELL. I should one of these days dismantle and see why the sounds box is not working, why it takes to boot so long when there is practically nothing on that machine, why it gets heated up like in 15 mins after it's boot-up. I have to somehow bribe my brother to do it over the long weekend, since we are not doing anything better than that! ;)

What about the warranty on your old laptop? And why the Samsung NC20? Did you consider the other netbook offerings from Asus, Lenovo and others?

My previous laptop had a 1 year warranty and its international warranty was not valid in India :( hence I had opted out of extending it.

I looked at Asus, Dell, eeePc and others but none had a decent laptop in the 12" range. The 13" and 14" laptops were just too heavy and comparitively pricey when compared with the Samsung NC20.

Besides reviews of the laptop were good so I went ahead with it.

Ps: I didnt get to see Lenovo laptops much, dont know if that brand is easily available in stores here.
