Married life

We've been married almost a month. Four weeks this Friday!

In that time, I've been rereading A Civil Campaign and then Pride and Prejudice, because it's been so delightful reading about other people's successful culmination of their improbable but eminently suitable matches. :-)

Hahahahahahaha "wow no pressure" bwahahaha :) :)

Although there is a grain of truth to that, in that you don't want to put your sweetie on a pedestal. Our solution is that Alyse and I are brilliant, but in different ways, so we just casually do our thing and the other person goes "wow, you did what?!?". (I am still convinced I am the stupid one, but I guess when you're taller, you just don't think how neat it is to be able to reach tall things or something. ;) :) )

Hee hee. No, you're right, but having deep esteem and respect for your partner need not mean putting him/her on a pedestal. I've been on both sides of that dynamic, too.

But remember, more than anything else your first together-move will strain your relationship even more than the time after. May your chemistry and your husband's mix well. And make sure each of you has a space to run & hide-- er, decompress.

Pride and Prejudice! What a wonderful book for rereading! One of my favorites, in fact, and eminently quotable.

Here's my favorite line: "Every day confirms my belief of the inconsistency of all human characters, and of the little dependence that can be placed on the appearance of merit or sense.”
