Arisia 2009 recap

Jan 22, 2009 13:45

... only a couple days belated.

Short form: It was a con. :-) As last year, we commuted (i.e. slept at home rather than at the hotel), and of the time I was there, I spent... not exactly the majority, but a plurality helping zigguratlabs prep for or clean up from parties. But that was good.

minor nattering about details, for my scrapbook )

There were, in fact, undergradlings (one of whom had actually turned up to services two nights previously). There were also alumni from recent to not-so-recent (class of '88, anyone?) -- although, at least in the times that I dropped in, not all the ones I expected to see there! There was at least one current employee who wasn't a student at all. Overall, it was a really nice idea.

This was one of the parties I sorely missed for not having made it this year. (Ziggurat being another major one).

Also missed the annual chance to see you!

I KNOW! :-D I said something to tpau on Friday about having brought CDs to give you, and when she said "Oh, he's not here," I went, "WHAT? Not at all?!? Ohnoes!!!"

Which reminds me that I *do* have CDs to give you, and though I could have asked her to courier them, I failed to do that either. :-} I'm planning to stick them in the mail. Anyone would think we live hundreds of miles apart...

It was good to see you(more like wave in your general direction). I told your husband that we know what your wedding gift is but we have to get off our butts and get it taken care of.

LED davening! It would CERTAINLY be in place of candles! What an awesome idea. :-) I should have brought the color-changing tealights from our wedding centerpieces.
