Sally's folly

I did some writing yesterday to flesh out my character work for Talley's Folly.

Technically, it's the closest thing to a short story I've written in years. (In fact, it felt a lot like writing fanfic; but I suppose it's in a way very much the same thing.)

I have no idea, to tell you the truth. The backstory I'm drawing on is actually almost all in the actual play (there's a lot of discussion of past events); I just needed to make it more real to myself.

ablock asked me kind of the same thing: "Do you do this for all your characters and I just never heard about it before?" I said I don't have any "other" characters, except for Eleanor. "Well, yeah, that." Okay, so, I thought about doing an exercise like this for Eleanor, and never got as far as concretizing it; but I think it would have benefited me there too, sure.

I think I mentioned to you that I once did a whole scene from the play for an acting class in college, which is one of the reasons why I really want to see this performance. (That and your lovely self, of course.) Please sign me up.
