Trust me, I DO NOT want those two to mix, like, ever. Facebook has people I know from work. And church. And from my parents' work. LiveJournal has...what the internet was invented for and lots of questionably legal music and doujinshi. Quite frankly, I do not WANT to find out who my real friends are.
I don't have a facebook so I should be safe .. for now ? Anyway... there is some serious pressure on me from work and friends to make a facebook account, but I think I'll use different email and everything on it.

The problem is that other people can cross-post your stuff to their FB and Twitter, without permission. Even locked posts and comments. And if they set their default to cross-post, I can easily see a lot of forgetting, or passive-aggressive "forgetting," to not do so.

Be careful about getting on FB. Its CEO is open in his contempt for privacy. Also note that FB accounts aren't simple to delete; if you join and then change your mind, this is how to get rid of it.
